Yunoko-no-yu

10-15 minutes drive from Miyanoura Port. A sulfur hot spring facility located on Yakushima Comprehensive Park. There is a Goemon bath where a 20.1 ° C cold spring is heated with firewood.

Nagata

Yakushima Toudai (Nagata Lighthouse)

A 19.6m-high chalk lighthouse built in 1873 on Nagata Cape. You cannot enter the lighthouse, but it has a great view, overlooking the East China Sea and Kuchinoerabujima.

Shitoko

Shitoko Gajumaru Koen (Shitoko Banyan Garden)

A large banyan park close to a coral reef beach. There are some banyan trees said to be over than 500 years old, along with many tropical plants.

Hot Springs

Yunoko no yu hot spring

10-15 minutes drive from Miyanoura Port. Is a simple sulfur hot spring facility located on the Yakushima General Nature Park site. There are two bathrooms. One is a Goemon bath, which is characterized by a 20.1 ° C cold spring boiled with wood. Reservation is required .

Kusugawa hot spring

A communal public bath with a history of more than 400 years, standing 200 meters up from the prefecture road . A hot spring boiled at 24.5 degrees is poured from a faucet into a tub filled. Bring your towels, soap, shampoo, etc. Environmentally friendly (Eco-friendly) products are recommended. Yuno river flows right beside the building, and fireflies dance in early summer.

Jomon no yado manten

One minute walk from the airport. A hot spring located in Jomon no Yado Manten, a hotel where you can fully enjoy the charm of Yakushima. It can also be used for day trips. In addition to indoor baths, there are open-air baths, hot spring cypress baths, hot spring family baths, hot spring bed baths, dry saunas, and mist saunas.

Onoaida Hot spring

350 years ago some hunters discovered a deer who was healing himself with spring water after got a wound. This event have triggered the opening of the hot spring . It is a community hot spring of the quality of sulfur spring. Pebbles stones are laid in the bathtub, and the source springs from underneath, so you can feel the quality of the hot water. You have to bring your towels, soap, and shampoo. If you bring soap, etc., please use Eco-friendly ones.

Yakushima JR Hotel hot spring

Hirauchi open air hot spring (kaichu onsen)

It is a natural hot spring located in the village of Hirauchi. You can take a bath for around two hours before and after the low tide. The baths are mixed, you cannot wear bathing suits or underwear, but you can wear bathing suits . If you take a bath during night time and if the sky is clear you will see the stars.

Yudomari hot spring

It is a natural hot spring that springs out on the beach of Yudomari and can be bathed at any time.
