Nagata Inakahama Beach

Nagata

It is the largest sandy beach in Yakushima (about 1km). It is a nesting site for loggerhead sea turtles. The number of turtles that come to lay eggs from May to July is the highest in the North Pacific region. Nagatahama Beach was designated as one of the Ramsar sites in 2005. Tours are held for observing sea turtles are held from mid May to end of July. 

*This beach is not ideal for swimming

Isso Beach

Isso

It is the largest beach in Yakushima. The natural bay creates a perfect beach ideal for swimming. It has been selected as the best beach in Kagoshima Prefecture. It's a popular beach and stalls open in the summer.

Beach season: Mid July to August 31

Hours: 9: 00 to 18: 00

Harutahama Beach

Anbo

An artificial beach made on the largest coral reef coast in Yakushima. There is a tide pool nearby where you can enjoy snorkeling.

Beach season: Mid July to August 31

Hours: 9: 00-18: 00

Facilities: Toilets, showers, changing rooms

Directions: 25 minutes walk from bus stop No.66 "Anbo"

Parking: 10 spaces

Kuriohama Beach

Kurio

 A relatively shallow beach surrounded by embankments on both sides.

Beach season: Mid July to August 31

Hours: 9: 00-18: 00

Facilities: Toilets, showers, changing rooms

Directions: 3 minutes walk from bus stop No.124 "Kurio Iriguchi"

Parking: 10 spaces
