Inaka beach

It is the largest sandy beach in Yakushima (about 1km). It is also known as the landing site of loggerhead turtles. Most turtles come to lay eggs between middle of may to middle of July. . In 2005, it became a Ramsar site.

Bathing beaches

Isso beach

 

It is the largest beach in Yakushima. The bay, which is a natural cove, has gentle waves and was selected as one of the best beach quality in Kagoshima prefecture. There are also stores during the season, and it is crowded with many bathers.

Haruta beach

 

It is an artificial beach made on the largest coral reef coast of Yakushima. There is also a tide pool nearby and you can enjoy snorkeling.

[Access] 25 minutes walk from bus stop No.66 "Awa"

 

 

Kurio beach

It is a relatively shallow beach surrounded by embankments on both sides.
